Healthy donuts your body will love
Yep, thats correct. I have developed the best healthy donut recipe going around and I am going to share it with you!
This donut recipe is packed with protein, is low GI, high fibre and rich in good fats. As well as being highly nutritious as we are using whole foods ONLY.
I was given our families old donut maker a few weeks ago and have been meaning to try it out. But if you don't have a donut make then I reckon that these little nutritious bundles of joy would make awesome mini cupcakes and/or tasty pikelets.
Ingredients:
Dry Ingredients
¼ cup almond flour
1 cup of linseed meal
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons of cacao powder (only if you want the chocolate flavour)
Wet Ingredients
3 Tablespoons pure maple syrup
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons coconut oil, melted
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
2 eggs, whites and yolks separated
Combine all ingredients apart from the the egg whites. Whisk the egg whites separately and fold into the mixture.
Heat the donut maker and grease with coconut oil.
Makes approx 20 mini donuts. Top with whatever you like, I can't go past the classic cinnamon.
