Turmeric chilli choc chews- The perfect winter chocolate!

As we enter into winter supporting our circulation is so important!

Spices are a wonderful way to do this! If you don’t have many curries or stir-frys then it can be hard to get your spices into the diet. I have made a chocolate snack packed full of spice to help boost flavour (YUM!!) but also help to boost your bodies circulation, warming the body during these times. Turmeric is a wonderful anti-inflammatory spice as well, making it a great inclusion to help fight any inflammation in the body.

One thing i love about this recipe is that it is designed to keep you full! We have gotten rid of the medjool dates, which are yum, but are also very high sugar. And replaced with spices and a little bit of maple syrup. Protein and good fats are at an all time high with the almond butter and meal, as well as the coconut oil.

Ingredients:

2 tbs coconut oil

4 tbs cacao

7 tbs almond meal

2 tbs almond butter

1 tsp turmeric

1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes

1/2 teaspoon cardamom

2 tbs maple syrup

Method:

Melt the coconut oil and add all other ingredients to the coconut oil. Combine well and the roll into small balls. Freeze for 1 hour or until firm.

Enjoy!
